We’ve officially hit March, and for Eurovision fans, this is indisputably the busiest month of the National Final season. At this point, we are looking at a calendar filled with an event each day for the first half of March, with the EBU cut off date for songs looming. With that said, let’s look at everything that’s happening within the next couple of weeks, and what we know surrounding all the announcements!
March 2
Italy – Sanremo
Usually held in February, Sanremo was pushed back this year and will begin in March 2. On the first night, we will be introduced to the first 13 artists in the Campioni section, ie, the section where the nation *usually* chooses their Eurovision entrant.

March 3
Italy – Sanremo
We will be introduced to the next 13 acts in the Campioni section in Night 2 of Sanremo in Italy.
March 4
Songs coming from internal selections are starting to surface, and at this stage, we are set to receive four new songs.
Belgium – Song Release
Hooverphonic is set to release their 2021 entry, and while they were the act to represent Belgium in 2020, their band line-up has since changed. Luka Cruysberghs was the lead singer of the group for Eurovision last year, however one of the original lead singers, Geike Arnaert has returned to the line-up.
Moldova – Song ReleaseÂ
Natalia Gordienko is back to represent Moldova, and now we know that she will sing ‘Sugar’ at Eurovision this year. Natalia has released a teaser on her social media, which you can see below:
Netherlands – Song Release
Jeangu Macrooy was also selected to return to 2021 after the cancellation of the contest last year, and on March 4th, we will finally get to hear his 2021 Eurovision entry.
Romania – Song Release
Yet another artist from our 2020 Eurovision line-up, Roxen is returning to represent Romania at Eurovision in 2021. She will be releasing her 2021 entry, which we haven’t heard too much about up until now.
Italy – Sanremo
The third night of Sanremo will take place.
March 5
Serbia – Song Release
Girl group Hurricane will release their Eurovision 2021 entry, Loco Loco. Watch the teaser below:
Australia – Song Release
Australia’s returning participant Montaigne will unveil her 2021 entry titled ‘Technicolour’ and you can listen to the snippet below:
Italy – Sanremo
The fourth night of Sanremo will take place.
March 6Â
Estonia – Eesti Laul Final
Estonia will be selecting their next Eurovision representative in the Eesti Laul Final. Two semi-finals have taken place, and you can find the results from Semi-Final 1Â here, and Semi-Final 2Â here. Eurovision 2020 representative Uku Suviste is part of the final line-up, but will have to win his place back at Eurovision.
Sweden – Melodifestivalen Andra Chansen
We have been introduced to all the semi-finalists over the last month, and the acts qualifying directly to the final have been chosen. The second chance round will take place on March 6th, with the 3rd and 4th placed artists from each semi-final to compete in duels. The qualifiers will complete the Melodifestivalen final line-up. Denmark – Dansk Melodi Grand Prix Final
8 acts will compete to represent Denmark at Eurovision this year. The line-up does not feature last year’s representatives, Ben & Tan. You can learn more about the final here.
Portugal РFestival da Can̤̣o Final
Portugal will be selecting their Eurovision representative, with 10 acts still in the running. Last year’s representative Elisa is not in the line-up this year. You can watch a recap of the finalists here.
Italy – Sanremo Final
Italy will be crowning their Sanremo winner from the 26 competing artists. The winner will have first say as to whether they will go on to represent Italy at Eurovision.
March 8
Russia – National Selection
Russia will be holding a national selection to determine the act and song that will be going to Eurovision this year. The winner will be chosen through 100% televote.
San Marino – Song Release
Senhit is returning to the Eurovision line-up this year, after she was set to represent the nation at Eurovision last year. Her song will be released on March 8th.
March 10
Austria – Song Release
Vincent Bueno will release his Eurovision 2021 entry, which as we know is titled ‘Amen’ – not to be confused with the Slovenian entry, also titled ‘Amen’!
Bulgaria – Song Release
Six songs were in the running to be the next Bulgarian Eurovision entry, all performed by last year’s representative, VICTORIA. Fans had the chance to provide feedback, but ultimately, only one song could be chosen. Read more about the competing entries here.
Greece
Stefania is back to represent Greece, and she will be singing ‘Last Dance’
March 11
North Macedonia – Song Release
Vasil is returning to Eurovision and will be singing the song ‘Here I Stand’ which has been teased on social media:
March 12
Latvia – Song Release
Samanta TÄ«na will release her entry for 2021. She was internally selected to return to Eurovision this year. The Latvian broadcaster has been airing a series previewing Samanta’s Eurovision journey this year, but we don’t yet know the title of the song.
March 13
Sweden – Melodifestivalen FinalÂ
Sweden will be selecting their next Eurovision act during the Melodifestivalen Final. The Mamas have returned to the selection, and will be in the final after qualifying direct from their semi-final. They will have to win the voting to return to Eurovision this year.
Iceland – Song ReleaseÂ
Daði & Gagnamagnið will be returning to represent Iceland, and it has now been announced that the song is titled ’10 Years’
